(Studio) Lotta Nieminen is the award-winning creative practice of Lotta Nieminen, specializing in branding, art direction and graphic design. With a multi-disciplinary approach, the studio brings concept-driven visual identities to life through thoughtfully crafted printed and digital implementations. Originally from Finland, Lotta Nieminen studied graphic design and illustration at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and the Rhode Island School of Design, before founding her namesake studio in 2012. Her client list includes Bvlgari, Hermes, New York Times, Liberty of London, Marimekko, Moda Operandi and Vanity Fair. Her approach across mediums is conceptual and holistic, guided by an interest for color, tactility and composition. She also works as an illustrator.
Liz Gumbiner, Creative Director, Writer
Liz is an award-winning agency creative director by background, creating campaigns for brands including Mitsubishi, Ray-Ban, Old Navy, Cetaphil, Unilever, Universal Studios and HSN. Online she's best known as the co-founder of the influential parenting lifestyle network, Cool Mom Picks.
Liz is the recipient of the AWNY (She Runs It) Changemakers Award for helping to pioneer the online creator space. She writes "I'm Walking Here," a Substack Featured Publication, and is one of Print Mag's Creative Voices contributor, as well as a podcaster and media personality.
Liz is especially passionate about mentoring and elevating other women, and helping brands connect with women authentically in ways that benefit them both. Sometimes she sleeps.
Kate Bingaman-Burt, Illustrator and Educator, Outlet
Kate Bingaman-Burt is a multi-disciplinary artist, illustrator, and educator based in Portland, Oregon. Kate’s teaching focuses on helping others find their creative voice and empowering people through making marks, making zines, and making prints! For her own practice, Kate mostly draws, letters, documents, and collects, but she also does a lot of other things that involve energy, conversation, and exchange.
She is a full-time educator and makes illustrations for all sorts of clients all around the world including The New York Times, Hallmark, Girl Scouts of America, and Chipotle. Since 2008, she has worked at Portland State and now holds the rank of Professor of Graphic Design. She is also the Associate Director of the School of Art + Design and the head of the Graphic Design program. In 2017, Kate founded the community print space Outlet which hosts workshops, pop-up events, a zine library, and a fully operational risograph print studio.
