Enter your work to compete across 26 categories, from book covers to brand identities, invitations to illustrations, posters to photos and self-promos. A panel of 34 esteemed industry judges with subject matter expertise in each category will select the winners, who will be featured on PRINT, broadcast to our network of more than 1 million, receive a trophy and a custom certificate.

Jackets and covers for trade books, academic presses, independently published books and more.

4. Books—Entire Package

The entire design experience of a book, from cover to interior and any other elements.

 

5. Branding Campaigns

Full campaigns with multimedia deliverables that can include, print, environmental, packaging, web.

6. Branding Collaborations

Campaigns that join brands with other brands, artists, organizations or influencers where collaboration partners can add artistic value to a product, expand access to diverse audiences, push industry boundaries, or address social issues.

7. Branding - Identities and Identity Systems

Identity systems for multiple applications such as environmental, wearables, accessories, packaging.

Everything from branded product catalogs to academic recruitment materials and informative nonprofit brochures.

 

9. Citizen Design Award - Free To Enter

This year’s Citizen Design category is open to designers who have created print and online campaigns designed to address and protect the lives and rights of the LGBTQIA+ community.

10. Concept Work (Professional Category Only)

Work that is conceptual in nature, experimental or speculative work--unproduced or unpublished.

11. Data Visualization & Information

Infographics, printed materials, websites, apps and other design work that brings data to visual life.

12. Design for Social Impact

Campaigns for nonprofit organizations or other associations that speak to the social good and have a call to action. Designs can include all elements of a campaign including advertising, reports, brochures, posters, signs, and art installations.

 

13. Editorial

Magazine covers and spreads, newspaper layouts and general design for periodicals.

14. Environmental Design

Wayfinding, interior design, architecture and other place-based work.

15. Hand-lettering & Type

Work featuring drawn letters in any style. Fixed systems of alphanumeric characters with specific characteristics to be used repetitively.

16. Illustration

Editorial illustration, standalone illustration design, comics.

 

17. In-House (Professional Category Only)

Communication materials created by an in-house team. This can include any project that can fall into another category as well.

 

21. Motion Graphics & Video

Design that moves—animated work, title graphics, commercials and advertisements, documentary work.

18. Invitations & Announcements

Design that informs or celebrates—custom wedding invitations, birth announcements, greeting cards and more.

 

22. Outdoor & Billboards

Outdoor communication that can include billboards, bus sides, shelters and mass transit.

19. IX/UX Design

Website and app design, UX design and digital design of all types.

 

23. Packaging

Product packaging, including paperboard, glass, plastic, metals, sustainable materials, fabric and other materials.

20. Logos

Wordmarks and logotypes for any type of client, created in-house or out-of-house.

Still-work: Editorial photography, Product photography, documentary photography, fine art photography.

25. Posters

Any and all sizes—digital and printed. Everything from one-sheet gig posters to PSAs.
