Jonathan Peterson
Design Director, Associate, Gensler
As Design Director in Gensler's Brand Design practice, Jonny leads teams in crafting innovative, story-driven graphic programs that address every aspect of brand strategy—from multimedia communications, to signage & wayfinding solutions, to iconic sculptural landmarks. His creative leadership spans both coasts, with work based out of the DC and LA offices on projects worldwide, transforming development projects of all scales.
Prior to Gensler, Jonny lead signage and brand efforts for high-profile developments at Selbert Perkins Design. Notable projects include the Wilshire Grand Tower in Downtown LA, the Gemological Institute of America, and The Baha Mar Resort in the Bahamas.
His work has been honored with multiple awards, including the IIDA Best of Asia Pacific 2018 for Hyundai Card's Studio Black in Seoul, and the Rethink Dupont Competition for a public art sculpture in Washington, DC. A strong advocate for branded storytelling in the built environment, Jonny actively contributes to the design community as a volunteer with the local arts organization Dupont Underground, and serves as Co-chair of the Washington, D.C. SEGD Chapter.
