David Hartman
Vice-President, Creative, Walmart
As Vice-President of Brand Creative at Walmart, David is responsible for the creative direction of Walmart’s marketing efforts, leading the Walmart Creative Studio, where he and his team drive creative excellence and innovation for the world's largest retailer.
Before joining Walmart, he held creative leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group and Target, where he founded and led the Brand Design Lab, Target’s internal design innovation team that created and launched over 30+ new brands, across categories including electronics, home goods, apparel, food & beverage, and household essentials, generating over $30 billion in sales.
Prior to Target, he also spent time at agencies including Ogilvy, Desgrippes Gobe, the Brand Integration Group and Arnell. David’s work has been recognized by The One Club, Fast Company, the Clio Awards, the Dieline Awards, Graphis, Communication Arts, and Brand New, and he has spoken at conferences including the AIGA Design Conference, HOW Design Live, and the Dieline Conference.
