Bennett Peji

Principal, Bennett Peji Design

Bennett Peji is ​a social impact executive​ an​d international brand consultant, designer, and a passionate advocate for inclusive, community-centered design. He’s shared his insights as a speaker at over 40 conferences across 11 countries and taught the senior design systems course at SDSU. Bennett has held numerous leadership roles, including Chairman of California Humanities, President of the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Asian Business Association and Vice President of the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation. He also contributed to San Diego’s cultural landscape as a Commissioner of Arts & Culture from 2003-2012 and served on the boards of Tijuana Innovadora and the Urban Discovery Academy Foundation.

With a rich career spanning 37 years, Bennett has received lifetime achievement awards from AIGA San Diego and SDX/The One Club. ​As a chapter president, he co-founded the AIGA Y Design Conference and served on the national board of AIGA​ from 2006-2009. His experience includes managing large, multi-disciplinary design projects for organizations like the City of San Diego, City of National City, ​City of Carlsbad, Scripps Research Institute, and Hewlett-Packard. Known for his research-driven approach, he ensures projects are deeply informed by community input. His focus on civic identity has led Bennett Peji Design to complete ​dozens of civic projects ​a​round the world.
